October 15, 2006 Present: Juanita Egan, Lisa Murray, Michelle Wolpert, Jack Hardin, Joel Reichek, Patrick McIlvain, Jennifer Corona, Phyllis Thomason, Lee Bergman President Juanita Egan called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. After discussion, a slate of officers to be submitted to the general meeting for the coming year was proposed: President
Phyllis Thomason Nominations will also be accepted from the floor. Treasurer Michelle Wolpert reviewed the financial report for the club. After discussion it was decided to keep the general meetings at the Doris Miller Center, which will be charging $160 per meeting for use of the facility. Social chair Phyllis Thomason reported that the club can use the Urban Living Building on Washington Avenue for its holiday social on December 5th, and after discussion it was decided to promote in-kind and cash contributions to the DePelchin Children’s Center at the holiday social and through December 15. Lee Bergman suggested that we find a location for a community bulletin board, provide flyers on the signs announcing the general meetings, and contact new residents as soon as we learn of them Outreach chair Patrick McIlvain asked for time at the general meeting to promote the WOW Parade scheduled for March 2007. Newsletter Editor Jennifer Corona asked for help with the newsletter, and stated that the next newsletter deadline is November 3. Lisa Murray suggested we have one or more speakers from Super Neighborhood 22 at the first quarterly meeting in 2007. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m. Respectfully submitted, |
