Phyllis Thomason, President
Phyllis has lived in the Rice Military neighborhood for four and a half years.
She has served on the Outreach / Social Committee working on the dedication of
Nellie Keyes Park and the celebration of National Night Out, and has organized
the RMCC monthly socials this past fall. Phyllis became a Houstonian by choice
40 years ago, moving here from central Texas. Her life long career has been in
luxury retailing where she held the positions of Public Relations Director,
Merchandise Manager /Assistant Store Manager, and Designer Salon Manager. Since
her retirement, she has become very involved with The Guild at HBU and is a
member of the advisory committee of Dress for Success Houston.

We love Memorial Park, walking the trails along Buffalo Bayou, and attending the
movies and live productions downtown."
Lee Bergman, Vice President

Lee was born in New York (Manhattan) and was raised in the suburbs north
of NYC (Westchester County). He graduated from the U. of Michigan with a BS in
Chemical Engineering, and later received his MS in Ohio. Lee has worked for 40
years in the chemical industry in various capacities: research & development,
design, construction, and operations. He has also been part owner of an
engineering firm, and was president of a chemical company in Texas City (Sea
Lion Technology) for 8 years before fully retiring last August. He is currently
consulting for chemical companies. He has three children, one grandson, and one
grandchild on the way. One daughter is a college professor in N.J., another
daughter works for NASA, and his son is a minister in Lufkin, TX. His wife,
Susanne, is a management consultant. Lee enjoys sailing, biking and photography.
Michelle Wolpert, Treasurer
Michelle has been living in RMCC since 1996, and owns one of the oldest
homes in the neighborhood, a small cottage-bungalow built in 1922. She is a
Boston native who has lived and worked in Houston since 1991, and currently
works in the Finance department at Dominion Resources. She has a BA in
economics and an MBA from MIT. For the past two years, she has been the
Treasurer of the Bayou City Road Runners Club, which is one of the more active
running clubs in the Houston area with over 300 members. She was also Treasurer
of the MIT Club of South Texas in the late 1990s, as well as members of the
Boards of the Women's Energy Network and the MIT Enterprise Forum. She is an
avid runner, and in her spare time makes pottery in her converted garage-studio.
Jack Hardin, Secretary
Jack and his wife, Janice Stooksberry, have lived in Rice Military since
July, 2004. Jack is an attorney and mediator, having attended Rice University
and the University of Houston Law School. He is a past president of the Rotary
Club of River Oaks. He advises individuals and business clients in a variety of
legal areas, as well as serving as a mediator in civil, family and probate
litigation.
Juanita Egan, Former President
Joel Reichek, Former President

Joel has lived in the Rice Military neighborhood for 8 years. He was
President of the Rice Military Civic Club for 3 years (2003-2005) and Past
President for the past year. He has been a Real Estate Agent with Beth Wolff
Realtors for the past 5 years.

Peggy Moore, Social Chairperson

Peggy has lived in the Rice Military neighborhood for 3 years. Peggy was born in
Washington DC, raised in the Maryland suburbs, and has lived in Houston since
the mid-70's. Prior to retiring, Peggy worked as a real estate agent. She
continues to help with marketing for Heritage Texas Properties on a part time
basis. She really enjoys living in the neighborhood because of its proximity to
Memorial Park and the theatre district. She looks forward to meeting more of her
neighbors by volunteering with RMCC.
Jennifer James, Newsletter Chairperson

Jennifer has lived in Rice Military with her husband Chris Corona since
relocating from Magnolia Grove in 1999. A senior editor with Total Body
magazine, Jennifer also works as a freelance writer and editor specializing in
energy and health coverage. When not dotting Is and crossing Ts, she spends most
of her time playing with Nathan, 4, and Harper, a newborn.
